My internet is fine as currently I can watch content on Netflix, Disney+, Crave, global, etc. But I can’t access anything in the Apple TV app on my Apple TV box because it says 'content unavailable'. The app works fine on my iPhone and iPad. Therefore, those experiencing a Netflix outage over the weekend missed out on a big chunk of the Apple TV 2’s core functionality: streaming movies. Apple did not comment on this report.
I see you resolved your question, but for completeness, it can also happen when AppleTV is not properly setup to the country you are currently on. I'm currently in Latin America and had to change the country on Configuration/iTunes Store to make it work (it was on USA, now says Argentina).
