PIA doesn’t brag much about how fast its VPN is. Looking over their site and marketing material, the only reference to speed is a mention that they use Gigabit VPN ports. Based on that, I assumed their performance would be pretty middle of the road. It wasn’t. Both the download and upload speeds were excellent. Disconnect / reconnect the PIA vpn client and see which adaptor disconnects / reconnects, it can also be identified by the type which will be something like "TAP-Windows Adaptor". Dec 09, 2017 · I suspect this is an issue with newer versions of the PIA client itself. I have a couple of computers with older versions of PIA and vpn helper doesn't have issues there. I ran into this when setting up a new computer and installed v79 of PIA.
