The 9900ks is connected to a port on the back of my asus gt ac5300. From the ac5300, I go through a few TPLink 5-port gigabit switches w/ POE (TL-SG105) (need POE for security cams) , and ultimately to an asus ac2900 router (running in mesh mode) to which the x99 is connected. I'm running all cat6a wiring. All switches indicate a gigbit connection.
